Track and field places 13 on indoor all-region squad

Four Wolves earn recognition in two events to lead WOU selections.

USTFCCA ALL-REGION SQUADS - COMPLETE LIST

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Western Oregon men's and women's track and field teams placed 13 student-athletes on the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region team, the organization announced on Tuesday. The top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three have earned the All-region distinction for this season.

Ryan Hansen (800-meters, distance medley relay), Matson Hardie (high jump, triple jump), Drew Larson (mile, DMR) and Chris Olsen (800-meters, DMR) led the WOU selections as each were named to the all-region squad in two events.

In addition to the dual all-region selections, Brady Beagley (mile), Brett Campbell (60-meter hurdles), Eric Gaines (heptathlon), Garrett Hardie (high jump), Harrison Leep (DMR) and Kody Rhodes (60-meter hurdles) also represented WOU on the men's squad.

On the women's side, WOU earned three selections as Alexis Anderson (high jump), Emmi Collier (shot put) and Shelby Peterson (high jump) captured all-region honors.

WOU track and field returns to action on Saturday, March 2, when the Wolves open the outdoor season in Salem, Ore., at the Willamette Opener.
