Box Score OAKLAND, Calif. – For the first time in school history, the Western Oregon women's soccer team is unbeaten through four contests as the Wolves defeated Holy Names, 2-0, in action on Saturday afternoon. The win completed an unbeaten, three-game road swing through California as the Wolves improved to 2-0-2 on the season with the victory.

Taija Bjorgo would provide the offense for WOU as the junior scored her first career goals for the Wolves, netting two against HNU for the only scoring in the contest.

Bjorgo would put the Wolves on the board as she connected on a short-range shot in the 29th-minute to give WOU a 1-0 lead. Makekau Kealakekua blasted a shot that was saved by the HNU keeper; however, it deflected right to Bjorgo who slotted the ball into the net for the first goal of the contest.

With WOU consistently peppering the HNU goalkeeper throughout the contest, the Wolves finally stretched the lead to two when Bjorgo connected in the 89th minute. Off a pass from JoEllen DeLeon, Bjorgo beat the keeper in a one-on-one situation to put the game away.

HNU did not have an answer as Kelsey Lindsey became the third WOU goalie to have her hand in a shutout as she made seven saves to record the win.

Tiana Miyashiro took the loss for HNU, allowing two goals while making nine saves in the net.

WOU will look to make it five unbeaten contests to start the season as the Wolves open Great Northwest Athletic Conference play against Seattle Pacific on Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Seattle, Wash.
