BURNABY, B.C. – The Western Oregon women's soccer team recorded its fifth shutout of the season; however, it would not be enough to pick up three points as the Wolves battled to a scoreless draw against Simon Fraser on Saturday evening. With the tie, WOU moves to 3-2-3 overall, 1-2-1 in league play, while SFU moved to 0-5-2 overall, 0-3-2 in conference action.

WOU would control action throughout the contest; holding a decided, 12-3 advantage in shots on the evening.

The Wolves back line was so solid that Wolves goalkeeper Amanda Rose Johnson picked up the shutout without recording a save.

On a wet and windy evening, neither team was able to get on the board as the Clan managed to keep the Wolves off the board despite lacking the possession.

WOU nearly got on the board with seconds left in the contest. Following a yellow card to a SFU defender, WOU's Becca Hoiland delivered a free kick into the box that deflected off a SFU defender and nearly went into the goal. From there, neither team had a quality opportunity in overtime as the Wolves secured the point on the road.

Meg Wilson picked up the shutout for the Clan, making seven saves in net while playing all 110 minutes.

The Wolves held SFU without a corner kick on the night as WOU held a 9-0 edge in the category.

The match concluded a seven-match road swing for the Wolves as WOU will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 3, as they host Northwest Nazarene at 3:30 p.m.
