MONMOUTH, Ore. -- The Western Oregon University softball team returns home this weekend with doublehaders against Western Washington and Simon Fraser Saturday and Sunday. The Wolves have clinched a postseason berth already, but can clinch the regular season conference title with three wins this weekend. WOU will honor seven seniors on Sunday before the first game.

LAST TIME OUT
• Western Oregon swept a Great Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader at Saint Martin's University, 2-0 and 4-3, last Saturday.
• On a cold day with light rain, the Wolves grabbed pair of wins behind an outstanding day on the mound from Kelli Demianew.
• At the plate, Amanda Evola went 3-for-8. She had two RBI, hit a double, and scored twice. Bridjet Box also had two RBI and hit her third home run of the season.

DEMIANEW NAMED GNAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK
• After winning both decisions at SMU, Kelli Demianew was named the GNAC Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season.
•  Demianew allowed no earned runs in 10 innings of work. She grabbed her third shutout of the season in Game 1.
• The junior struck out six batters on the day, while allowing only six total hits.

CHAMPION TRACKING
• Western Oregon has the chance to win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference regular season title for the second time in program history.
• The Wolves hold a two-game lead over WWU and Central Washington for first place in the conference standings with four games left.
• If WOU wins two games Saturday, and CWU loses one at Northwest Nazarene, then the Wolves clinch the title and the one-seed.
• If Western Oregon loses one game this weekend it will still finish with the fewest GNAC losses in program history.

STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
• The Wolves are eighth in NCAA Div. II averaging 0.52 double plays.
• Kelli Demianew leads the GNAC with a 1.83 ERA. Her two saves and three shutouts also top the conference.
• In the GNAC, Melanie Pfeiffer is third with a .414 batting average. Amanda Evola and Kelsie Gardner are sixth and 10th.
• Those three are first, second, and third in total hits; Pfeiffer (70), Evola (65), and Gardner (57). They also lead the conference in runs scored; Pfeiffer (44), Gardner (44), and Evola (41).
• Evola's 14 doubles, 43 RBI, and 97 total bases pace the GNAC as well.
