Box Score MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon University women's soccer team finished Saturday's game with a 1-1 draw against Northwest Nazarene University.
Northwest Nazarene (2-1-3, 1-0-1 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) scored first when Lexi Fesenbek provided a through ball for Sarah Blum to finish a shot into the upper right corner in the 27th minute.
Four minutes later, Western Oregon's
Alexis Sutherlin tied the game after gaining control of a loose ball in the box.
Peyton Moon served a diagonal ball off of a free kick into the box, which led to Sutherlin's shot.
The Wolves (3-2-1, 1-0-1 GNAC) outshot the Crusaders 19-8.
Mariah Konyn had five shots, and
Makana Pundyke had four shots. Western Oregon also gained more corner kick opportunities with nine chances, compared to Northwest Nazarene's three chances.
After remaining tied for the full regulation time of 90 minutes, the game went to two sets of overtime, but neither team scored to seal the win.
The Wolves remain unbeaten in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference season. They will take on Simon Fraser on Thursday at 5 p.m.
