MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Northwest Nazarene University volleyball team continued its hot start to the 2014 season with a three-set road win at Western Oregon University Saturday, 25-17, 34-32, and 28-26.
 
The Crusaders (9-1, 2-0 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) got a test from WOU, but pulled out the lengthy three-set match. The Wolves finished with a .119 to .114 advantage in attack percentage, and WOU had a 43-41 edge in kills. But, Western Oregon had 25 attack errors and seven service errors. The Crusaders had seven team blocks to WOU's six.
 
Andrea Terpstra and Madi Farrell both led NNU with nine terminations. Terpstra hit .438 in the match. Michelle Terpstra had 35 of the Crusaders' 41 assists. She added 15 digs. Taylor Roberts and Kaitlyn Tuholski had 21 and 13 digs. Farrell totaled four blocks.
 
Cherene O'Hara led Western Oregon (2-9, 0-3 GNAC) with a match-high 11 kills. Jordin Ramos recorded 20 assists and Sam Moore had 11. Jaryn Ramos and Alisha Bettinson combined for 36 digs.
 
The match featured 26 ties and 15 lead changes. The second set had 17 ties and nine lead changes as the teams combined for 66 points.
