THIS WEEK:Â Western Oregon volleyball faces a tough road trip this week against two teams with national poll recognition and tied atop the Great Northwest Athletic Conference standings. The Wolves will face RV Northwest Nazarene on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. Mountain time and No. 25 Central Washington on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. Pacific.

LAST TIME OUT- What a week for Western Oregon volleyball! The team extended its winning streak to three with a
3-0 victory over Seattle Pacific and a
four-set win over Saint Martin's. For WOU head coach
Brad Saindon, he earned his 100
th and 101
st wins at Western Oregon.
- Sophomore
Alisha Bettinson had double-doubles in both matches (10K/18D vs. SPU, 14K/10D vs. SMU). She has seven double-doubles for the season, including a three-match consecutive streak.
- The Wolves had 11.5 blocks on Saturday against the Saints – the second most for a match this season (13 in five-set win over Notre Dame de Namur on Sept. 12).

ABOUT NORTHWEST NAZARENE- NNU is receiving votes in the Oct. 26 AVCA national poll. Â The Crusaders are 13-7 this season with a 10-2 record in conference play, losing to CWU and WWU. Last week, NNU gave WWU their first conference loss and defeated Simon Fraser on the road. NNU has won eight straight matches and 10 of their last 11 overall.
- The Crusaders are hitting .220 with 12.5 kills per set, while their opponents are hitting .160 with 12.1 kills per set.
- Kendra Bodine, with 235 kills on the season, leads five Crusaders with at least 130 kills. Madi Farrell has a .306 attack percentage and 187 kills. Hailey Cook runs the offense with 10.58 assists per set (804 overall).
VS. NNU:Â Western Oregon holds a 49-25 advantage in the series dating back to 1984. Despite the all-time series lead, WOU has lost five straight matches to the Crusaders.

ABOUT CENTRAL WASHINGTON- Winners of eight of their last nine matches, the Wildcats entered the AVCA national poll this week at No. 25. CWU is 14-5 on the season with a 10-2 record in league play. Last week on the road, CWU survived a five-set match at Simon Fraser and took down No. 11 Western Washington in four sets.
- Central Washington is hitting .242 with 12.7 kills per set. Their opponents are hitting .163 with 12.1 kills per set.
- Kiah Jones and Sabrina Wheelhouse swept the GNAC Volleyball Players of the Week award. Jones hit .365 for the week with four errors on 76 swings. Wheelhouse set school records with 11 block assists and one solo stop in the five-set win over Simon Fraser.
VS. CWU:Â Western Oregon is 28-25 all-time against Central Washington since 1985. CWU has a four-match winning streak dating back to the 2013 season finale (Nov. 23).

WOU TEAM NOTES:Â Here are some tidbits about the Western Oregon volleyball team through 21 matches:
- Western Oregon is 7-14 overall this season with six victories coming at home. WOU sits in a tie for seventh place in the GNAC with Seattle Pacific at 4-8 in league.
- The Wolves are hitting .188 as a team with 11.1 kills per set. They hit over .300 twice - a season-best .386 in the three-game sweep at MSUB on Oct. 15 and .302 at home against Alaska on Sept. 19.
- Â There are no seniors on the 2015 WOU volleyball roster.

ON THE GNAC HORIZON:Â The Wolves volleyball team will host No. 16 Western Washington on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and Simon Fraser on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 8 p.m. at the New P.E. Building.
