th state. On Thursday, the Wolves will face the Nanooks of Alaska in Fairbanks. Then WOU heads into the den of the GNAC-leading Seawolves of Alaska Anchorage on Saturday night.

LAST TIME OUT· Western Oregon dropped a
Tuesday match at Concordia and came back from two sets downs to earn a
win in the home finale in five sets over Montana State Billings.
·
Amanda Short and Alisha Bettinson posted 10 or more kills in both matches last week. Short had 29 kills while Bettinson posted 25 kills over the same time. Sydney Blankinship led the Wolves with 16 kills in the five-set win over MSUB.·
Christie Colasurdo continued her season-long stellar play in the WOU back line with a combined 60 digs against Concordia and MSUB. She is ranked fourth in the nation with a 6.37 digs per set average this season.
ABOUT ALASKA· Alaska is on a three-match skid, with their last match win coming in a big five-set win over Northwest Nazarene on Nov. 5 at home.
· The Nanooks are hitting .26 with 10.6 kills per set, while their opponents are hitting .236 with 11.6 kills per set.
· Senior outside hitter Sam Harthun became the GNAC career leader in kills with her first kill last Saturday at Simon Fraser. She leads the GNAC with 4.62 points per set.
VS. UAF: Western Oregon is 18-12 in the all-time series, including a
three-game sweep over the Nanooks early in GNAC play.
ABOUT ALASKA ANCHORAGE· The Seawolves are on the verge on winning the GNAC championship after winning a pair of matches last week including a 3-0 sweep of Western Washington in a showdown of the league's top teams. UAA is currently the West Region's top squad with a 24-2 overall record.
· Alaska Anchorage is hitting .261 with 13.5 kills per set, while their opponents are hitting .125 with 10.7 kills per set.
· Katelynn Zanders leads UAA with 356 kills while Julia Mackey posts a team-high .307 hitting percentage. The Seawolves are 15
th in the nation in hitting percentage.
VS. UAA: The Seawolves have a 16-15 advantage in the all-time series.
Alaska Anchorage took a 3-1 victory to open GNAC play on Sept. 17 to extend their current series streak to five matches.
WOU TEAM NOTES: Here are some tidbits about the Western Oregon volleyball team through 27 matches:
· Western Oregon is 8-19 overall this season with seven of the eight victories victories coming at home. WOU sits in a four-way tie for seventh place in the GNAC with a 5-13 league mark.
· The Wolves are hitting .178 as a team with 11.3 kills per set. They hit over .300 twice - a season-best .386 in the three-game sweep at MSUB on Oct. 15 and .302 at home against Alaska on Sept. 19.
· Western Oregon is currently third in the GNAC with an average of 16.52 digs per set.
