MONMOUTH, Ore. – Andy Avgi scored a team-leading 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds while
Devon Alexander posted a double-double to help Western Oregon move to 4-0 on the season with an 87-68 win over Warner Pacific on Saturday on day two of the WOU/Doubletree D2 Shootout.

Avgi and Alexander were two of four WOU players to score in double figured. An 11 of 14 performance from the field in 26 minutes aided in Avgi's efficient night.
Alex Roth finished with 18 points including four shot from behind the 3-point arc.
Jordan Wiley knocked down five shots from the field to finish with 12 points.

Frankie Johnson led the Knights with 18 points.

The Wolves led from the start, securing a 21-3 cushion in the first eight minutes before extending its advantage to 20 points – 36-16 – with 5:03 to play before the break. Western Oregon entered the locker room at halftime leading 46-29.

A quick start, including makes from 3-point land, for the Knights sliced the lead to 13, 54-41. WOU used consecutive Avgi layup facilitated by crisp passes from
Tanner Omlid in a 13-5 run to build the team's biggest lead at 21 points.

Alexander was a beast on the defensive boards, hauling in all of grabs off Warner Pacific misses. WOU dominated the battle of the glass by outrebounding the Knights by a 45-24 margin. Ten Wolves finished with at least two rebounds.

Kadeem Strickland scored seven points off the bench.
Julian Nichols dished off seven assists while Omlid added six helpers.

The Wolves had 26 assists on 33 made field goals, completing the game with a 47.8 percent clip for the night.

Saturday's contest was an exhibition for the visiting Knights, but the regular season win pushed Western Oregon to its first 4-0 start since the 1984-85 season.

Western Oregon returns to action when they travel to Belmont, Calif. for a post-Thanksgiving tournament hosted by Notre Dame de Namur. First up are the host Argos on Friday, Nov. 27 at 7 p.m. at Gleason Gym.
