After three-match road trip to Colorado, the Western Oregon soccer team returns home for its non-conference finale against Evergreen St. on Monday, Sept. 14 (3 p.m.) and then gears up for Great Northwest Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Sept. 19 (3:30 p.m.) when they face defending league champion Western Washington.
 
The Wolves bounced back after an overtime loss at Colorado State Pueblo with a 2-0 shutout over New Mexico Highlands and an overtime 2-1 win thanks to an own goal over Colorado Christian.
 
YOUTH SOCCER DAY ON SATURDAY
Any young player wearing their uniform to Saturday's match against Western Washington will get into the match for free!

STINGY DEFENSE, STRONG KEEPING
Western Oregon has allowed two goals over its first four matches, earning three match wins in the process. Sophomore goalkeeper Lindsey Mabinuori sports a 0.52 goal against average in 349 minutes. She has one solo shutout and combined in another clean sheet with Nicole Tejada.
 
EARLY OFFENSIVE SPARK
Vicky Cruz Rosales leads the Wolves with three goals, the latest coming WOU's 201 win over Colorado Christian. Allison Sprecher and Makana Pundyke each have two goals.
 
ABOUT EVERGREEN STATE
The Geoducks (0-2) seek their first win when they visit Monmouth on Monday afternoon. Opponents have outshot ESC 27-15 in two previous matches.

ABOUT WESTERN WASHINGTON
The Vikings (3-1-0) blanked Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, Calif., 1-0 on Sept. 12. Two other wins have also been shutouts – 2-0 over California Baptist and 1-0 over Sonoma State, both at home. WWU's loss came at Humboldt State, 2-1, on Sept. 9.
 
Catherine Miles has the early lead in scoring for WWU with two goals. In goal, Ashley Haden has a 0.65 GAA and nine total saves.
