Â
VS. PORTLAND STATE – This will be the 23
rd meeting between the Wolves and the Vikings. Western Oregon holds a 11-10-1 advantage in the all-time series. This will be the third meeting since 2008. Last year, PSU defeated the Wolves 45-38 at Hillsboro Stadium. Portland State has won the last seven meetings.
Â
TOTAL YARDS ADVANTAGE DOESN'T EQUAL WINS – In each of the three Western Oregon games in 2015, the team with the total yard advantage has ended up on the wrong side of the scoreboard. The Wolves outgained Humboldt State by 98 yards, but could not comeback from a 17-0 deficit at the Redwood Bowl. In WOU's home win over Simon Fraser, it was the Clan that had a 442-294 total yard victory. Week three saw WOU outgain the Wildcats of Central Washington 331-300, but the hosts picked up the win.
Â
SECOND HALF SCORING – WOU has scored 51 of its 70 points in the second half this season. In comparison, opponents have scored 17 points in the second half.
Â
RED ZONE SUCCESS ON THE ROAD – Western Oregon has converted every scoring opportunity inside the 20-yard line away from McArthur Field. The Wolves were 2-of-2 in week one at Humboldt State (
Andy Avgi 16-yard TD pass,
Daniel Thomas 8-yard TD pass) and went 3-for-3 in the red zone at CWU (
Phillip Fenumiai 5-yard TD run,
Joe Harris 3-yard TD run, Thomas 6-yard TD pass.) In comparison, the Wolves went 0-for-2 inside the red zone against Simon Fraser at home.
Â
NON-GNAC COUNTERS – Western Oregon has a 3-2 record in non-conference games against GNAC opponents, including last week's loss at Central Washington. There is one more GNAC non-counter on the 2015 sechedule – Nov. 14 at home against Humboldt State. In 2014, WOU defeated SFU and CWU while falling to HSU in league non-counters. The GNAC abandoned a true round robin conference schedule with the addition of its sixth team in 2014, South Dakota Mines. Presently, a team will play the GNAC schools twice during the year with only one of those games counting towards the conference title race. That format will again change in 2016 after S.D. Mines and Dixie State leave the league to join the RMAC
Â
ALL-PURPOSE PAUL - Paul Revis finished with 145 all-purpose yards in the game. He had 76 yards receiving on seven catches and had three kick returns for 63 yards. Revis enters the week ranked fourth in the GNAC with 148 all-purpose yards per game and fourth in receiving at 77 yards per game.

He is also ranked third in GNAC with an average of 273.7 yards of total offense per game. In the Division II stats, Shimabukuro is 18th in passing yards (894), 27th in passing touchdowns (7) and 28th in completions per game (22.33).

nd in Division II with his average of 40.9 yards per punt.
