LOOKING AT THE WESTERN OREGON WOLVESThe Wolves experienced unfortunate weather during their home opening weekend on March 5 and 6 as they were scheduled to host Saint Martin's and Central Washington. The games against Saint Martin's were postponed, while Western Oregon traveled to Central Washington for a doubleheader. Western Oregon fell to the Wildcats, 5-7 and 6-7, after a back-and-forth scoring battle.

Destiny Kuehl leads the Wolves with a batting average of .488, while junior
Kelsie Gardner leads the Wolves in hits with 29. Both Wolves currently have 13 runs this season.

Brandy Knowles is hitting a .344 batting average with six runs and 11 hits, and sophomore
Zoe Clark is hitting a .339 batting average with six runs and 19 hits. Freshman
Ryanne Huffman also totals 19 hits with 11 runs and a batting average of .328.

Alyson Boytz (3-3) has seen the most time in the circle with 42.2 innings, generating a 3.28 earned run average and striking out 20 batters so far in the season. Sophomore
Lizzet Dominguez (2-3) has an earned run average of 4.15 after 28.2 innings, and she has struck out nine batters. Â

LOOKING AT THE SIMON FRASER CLANThe Clan is on a seven-game winning streak as they defeated Central Washington on March 12 in a doubleheader, 10-9 and 7-6.

Simon Fraser has six student-athletes who are in the double digits for both runs and hits including senior Nicole Ratel (16 runs, 28 hits, .394 batting average), sophomore Taylor Lundrigan (23 runs, 32 hits, .376 batting average), senior Rachel Proctor (17 runs, 30 hits, .353 batting average), senior Alex Baylak (17 runs, 28 hits, .341 batting average), sophomore Taylor Gillis (27 runs, 31 hits, .341 batting average), and senior Stephanie Caron (20 runs, 25 hits, .338 batting average).

After 66 innings, sophomore pitcher Alia Stachoski (8-3) leads the Clan with an earned run average of 3.82 and 67 strikeouts. Junior Tori Belton (6-4) has recorded a 4.65 earned run average and 28 strikeouts after 52.2 innings, and senior Jessica Goulet (1-3) holds a 4.87 earned run average and 20 strikeouts in 41.2 innings.

LOOKING AT THE WESTERN WASHINGTON VIKINGSThe Vikings battled against Northwest Nazarene on March 4 and 5 in a doubleheader each day. Both teams had two wins and two losses in the four total games.

Senior Alexie Levin leads the Vikings in batting average (.429) and hits (24). She totals 14 runs. Senior Emma Blauser holds a .346 batting average with 10 runs and 18 hits, while junior Kali Patterson is hitting a .333 batting average with 15 runs and 19 hits. Sophomore Emily Benson has contributed with her .302 batting average, 11 runs, and 19 hits.

In the circle, sophomore Makinlee Sellevold (3-4) posts a 2.35 earned run average with 33 strikeouts in 50.2 innings. Freshman Shearyna Labasan (7-2) has a 3.69 earned run average and 32 strikeouts in 55 innings.

UP NEXTThe Wolves will host Central Washington in Monmouth on Friday, March 25 for a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. They will then travel on the following day to Saint Martin's for a doubleheader at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
