"Demetrius and Dustin (Triano) are elite-level shooters, but we have a lot of guys that are very capable threats from beyond the arc," head coach
Jim Shaw said.
The Wolves never trailed in the game as Darius Lubom opened the contest with a
Tanner Omlid-assisted jumper. Fresno Pacific (0-2) tied the game on the next possession with a Toby Christensen basket, but the WOU attack was nearly unstoppable with a 67.6 percent field goal rate in the first half.
Trammell was 5-of-6 from 3-point range for 17 points in the first half and was joined by 14 points on 4-of-4 from distance by teammate
Riley Hawken. Omlid, Dustin Triano and
Nick Nestell got into the act in the second half as the Wolves mounted a 65-point lead (113-48) with eight minutes play.
"We shot well on Monday and won by 25 and that bothered me all week. Our job is to play all 40 minutes," Shaw said.
In all, six players scored at least 10 points for the Wolves with Triano (17 points), Hawken (14), Vince Boumann (12),
Janvier Alaby (11) and Omlid (10) all reaching the mark. Helping the team gain a 38-24 edge on the glass,
JJ Chirnside led the team with nine rebounds and added eight points.
"I think we have a lot of guys that can help our team win, the key is to make sure they realize that even though they don't all have the same job, they will all be important as we continue this season."
