MONMOUTH, Ore. – Following a successful trip to Hawaii, WOU softball (6-5) prepares to face the Yotes of the College of Idaho (1-2) this weekend in a four-game series Saturday and Sunday in Caldwell, Idaho. ABOUT WESTERN OREGON:
- In six games played on the Hawaiian Islands, Western Oregon went 4-2. The Wolves dropped their opening doubleheader against Hawaii Pacific but came back with dominating sweeps of Chaminade and BYU-Hawaii.
- Senior infielder Destiny Kuehl was named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Kuehl finished the week hitting .579 (11 for 19) in six games with nine runs, 11 RBIs, a double and three home runs to lead the Wolves to a 4-2 week on the road. She went 5 for 6 in the Wolves' doubleheader at Chaminade on Wednesday and went 2 for 3 with two homers, two RBIs and three runs in the nightcap. Kuehl ended the road trip by going 2 for 3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs in an 11-0 win at BYU-Hawaii on Friday.Â
- After the team had three home runs over five games at the Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas, Western Oregon hit nine homers last week in Hawaii. Zoe Clark got the homer party started with a solo shot in game two against HPU. Emma Alfonso had two in the DH opener at Chaminade while Destiny Kuehl hit homers in back-to-back innings in the second game against the Silverswords. Kuehl and Ashlee Lynch closed out the long-ball display against BYUH.
- All four WOU pitcher had time in the circle during the trip to Hawaii. Sammi Cadwallader threw a five-inning shutout at BYU-Hawaii to close out the solid trip. Cadwallader went 2-0 for the week with a 3.38 ERA. Haley Fabian picked up the other two wins for the week tossing 15.2 innings with 15 strikeouts.

ROAD WARRIORS:
- Western Oregon continues a 15-game stretch on the road to start the season. The four-game trip at the College of Idaho brings the opening journey to its end after five games in Las Vegas at the Desert Stinger and six games against three teams in Hawaii.
- The Wolves are 6-5 overall, but 4-2 in true road games this year, based on the results of the Hawaii trip. Over the last five seasons (including 2017), the Wolves are 41-50 in true road contest away from Monmouth.

WOLVES vs. YOTES:
- Western Oregon and the College of Idaho have not met on the softball field since 2004 when COI was called Albertson College of Idaho. The Wolves swept two home games in 2004 by scores of 9-1 and 10-2. WOU has a 4-0 all-time advantage in the series.
- The College of Idaho enters the series with 1-2 record playing in the Biola University Tournament. The Yotes beat San Diego Christian (5-1) then fell to Menlo (12-3) and Vanguard (8-0) before rains in Southern California wiped away their final three scheduled contests.
