How It Happened
Sophomore guard
Kaylie Boschma had 17 points leading Western Oregon on Saturday, but the visiting Wolves could not sustain a strong effort from the first quarter in a 91-50 loss to conference leading Alaska Anchorage.

The Wolves shot a blistering 63.6 percent in the opening quarter against the second-ranked Seawolves and led by three, 17-14, on a 3-ball from Boschma and a jumper from
Kennedy Corrigan. Alaska Anchorage responded with a closing 7-0 run to lead 21-17 after 10 minutes.

The Seawolves continued their run into the early moments of the second quarter, extending the stretch to 16 unanswered points and a 13-point lead, 30-17. A Tara Thompson 3-pointer gave UAA a 45-25 lead with 42 seconds on the clock before a Corrigan nailed a triple on the ensuing possession. Alaska Anchorage took a 48-29 lead into the locker room.

Both teams shot 42.9 percent in the opening half with UAA hitting 15-of-35 shots while the Wolves were 9-of-21. Boschma had 14 of her game total in the opening 20 minutes.

Western Oregon cooled from the field in the second half and could not get closer than 20 points.

- Kaylie Boschma was the lone Western Oregon player to score in double figures with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting in 22 minutes.
