MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Western Oregon softball team will continue their quest in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference remaining in-state for four games against Concordia on Thursday and Friday, April 13-14. The originally scheduled home-and-home series has been altered with Concordia hosting all four games beginning on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Porter Park.

ABOUT WESTERN OREGON:
- The Wolves are 31 wins away from 750 as a program (since 1985).
- Offensively, the Wolves are averaging 5.54 runs per game, ranked 55th in Division II. WOU has outscored its opponents 180-137 scoring 32 first-inning runs and 39 runs in the fourth inning.
- Senior infielder Destiny Kuehl is on an 11-game hitting streak and has reached base in 14 straight. Kuehl is hitting .413 on the season with a team-best five home runs and 28 runs batted in.
- Senior Kelsie Gardner slugged a pair of solo home runs in the Wolves' series at Northwest Nazarene last weekend to improve her team-leading batting average to .438 in 31 games. Gardner also leads WOU in stolen bases (16) and walks (10).
- Gardner (49th) and Kuehl (65th) are among the nation's leaders in batting average while ranking fifth and eighth respectively in the GNAC.
- Nine different WOU players have hit home runs this year, led by five each from Kuehl and junior outfielder Zoe Clark. Senior infielder Ashlee Lynch is next with four dingers and senior outfielder Emma Alfonso has hit three.
- In total, seven Western Oregon players are hitting above .300 on the season
- Senior pitcher Sammi Cadwallader ranks second in the GNAC with a 2.67 ERA in 60.1 innings. The Wolves pitching staff – Cadwallader, junior Lizzet Dominguez, sophomore Haley Fabian and freshman Chandler Bishop – have combined for a 3.67 team ERA and 104 strikeouts.
- Three Wolves have earned GNAC Player of the Week honors thus far – Destiny Kuehl (Player, Feb. 20), Ashlee Lynch (Player, Feb. 27) and Sammi Cadwallader (Pitcher, Feb. 27).

ROAD WARRIORS, CONTINUED:
- This season has not been kind to the WOU fans who were expecting to see games in Monmouth. With the change to this weekend's schedule, the Western Oregon softball team has now lost, to date, 10 games expected to be played at the WOU Softball Field. The next chance to play at home will be on Monday, April 17 when the Wolves are expected to host Simon Fraser in games that were lost due to rain in March.

WOLVES vs. CU:
- Western Oregon and Concordia have played 83 times prior to this year with the Wolves holding a 56-17 advantage in the all-time series. Last year, WOU took three out of four games in the regular season against the Cavaliers and opened the GNAC Championships with a 3-1 victory over Concordia. The Wolves are 23-10 on the road against CU, but this will mark the first time playing at Porter Park since Concordia's renovation of Porter Park that included a softball configuration.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS:
- Concordia holds a 13-22 record entering the week, going 5-11 so far in the GNAC. CU has not played since going 1-5 at the Tournament of Champions in Turlock March 31-April 2. The Cavaliers are hitting .2300 as a team with 25 home runs. Megan Luebbert leads the team with a .491 batting average. Courtney Summers and Taylor Bussey have combined for 14 homers and 72 RBI (36 RBI each) as the main power for the Cavaliers. In the circle, Mattie Boucher (6-12, 5.47) and Jessica Lambourne (3-7, 6.61) have amassed the majority of the innings with Boucher leading the staff with 56 strikeouts.
