PORTLAND, Ore. – Western Oregon sophomore Haley Fabian was named Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball Pitcher of the Week on Monday per a release from the league's media office.
 
Fabian threw 21 innings over the weekend for three wins, tossing 19 frames without allowing an earned run against Western Washington and Simon Fraser. In two games against the Vikings, she pitched 14.0 innings with eight strikeouts including a six-hit shutout in game two on Saturday afternoon. She tied her season-high with eight strikeouts against SFU and kept the Clan from completing a comeback in an 8-7 win for the Wolves. Fabian is 11-7 with a 3.62 ERA and ranks third in the conference in strikeouts (77) and fourth in wins.
 
Fabian and the Wolves are slated to play six games this week with a midweek doubleheader at Saint Martin's and home games Friday-Saturday with the Saints and Central Washington.
