SEATTLE – The Western Oregon volleyball team fell 3-0 (16-25, 21-25, 19-25) to the Seattle Pacific Falcons on Saturday, splitting their two-game road trip to Washington for Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.
Seattle Pacific (5-9, 2-4 GNAC) jumped out to a quick lead in the opening set, establishing a 5-1 advantage through the first six points. Western Oregon (3-10, 1-5 GNAC) then posted a 4-1 run, utilizing three errors from the Falcons, but were never able to recover from the early deficit. The Wolves opened with their lowest hitting percentage of the day at .172 with eight kills.
The second game proved their most efficient hitting, committing just one attack error on 34 tries. WOU started the second set with a burst offense, scoring the first three points of the game.
Sianna DeCarli and
Sarah Crowell each had a kill during that run and would tie for a team-high eight kills in the match.
Western led by as many as three points on several occasions in the second set, including as late as 16-13, before a five-point Falcons run erased that lead. SPU out-scored WOU 12-5 to close the set.
The Wolves were once again able to win the battle at the net, holding a 7-2 advantage in blocks. They have out-paced opponents 19-5 in blocks over their last two matches. DeCarli,

Krista Omlid all totaled three block assists in the loss.
Aubrey Stanton finished Saturday with 19 assists, four digs and a kill along with a service ace. She has recorded an ace in four straight matches and 10 of her last 12 appearances.
"I was happy with our attitude and effort, but we need to change the result," said head coach
Stacy Metro. "We will get there."
The Wolves now return home to host Alaska and Alaska Anchorage next week. The Nanooks visit Thursday, Oct. 10, before the Seawolves come to town on Saturday, Oct. 12. Both games are slated for a 7 p.m. PDT first serve at NPE Gym.
