FOREST GROVE, Ore.—Competing at the Pacific University Boxer Combined Events, Western Oregon's
Mitchell Kruse took 13th place in the decathlon on Tuesday.
Kruse scored 4,898 total points across the 10 disciplines with career bests in five separate events.
Kruse posted career bests in the 100 and the 400 on the opening day of competition to tally 2,338 points at the break.
Returning on the second day, Kruse set PR's in the discus, pole vault and 1,500.
Kruse's 4:33.28 in the 1,500 netted the sophomore his highest point total in a single event with 723 points in the finale where he took second place in the distance race.
