PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon's Ray Gerrard was named the GNAC Field Athlete of the Week on Monday after another strong showing in the discus.

The sophomore from Drain, Oregon, improved his No. 6 distance in WOU history in the discus with a mark of 50.17 meters (164 feet, 7 inches) on Saturday to win the Willamette Open in Salem.

The Wolves head to Caliornia this week for a trio of events - the Mike Fanielli Invite in San Francisco, the Stanford Invite and the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, California.
