WOU heads into its final tuneups before the GNAC Championships (Feb. 19-20) coming off a strong performance at a trio of meets last weekend.
Highlighting the weekend was seniorÂ
Ujunwa Nwokoma as she broke her own school record in the indoor long jump with a mark of 19 feet, 0.75 inches - 0.75 inches longer than her previous record at the Geroge Fox Indoor Meet #1 on Saturday in Newberg. It's an NCAA provisional mark for the Clackamas, Oregon, native and ranks No. 26 in Division II this season.

Mark Warren hit a PR in the weight throw with a distance of 57-6 (17.53 meters) - increasing his No. 7 mark all-time at WOU (No. 6 is 57-7.75). In the women's weight throw,Â
Liliana Lyness-Morales PR'd and improved her WOU top-10 mark in the event at 50-5.25 (15.37 meters) - the No. 8 mark in school history.

Josie Lavato who finished the 60 meters in a time of 8.04 seconds at the Portland Indoor #2 on Sunday - tied for ninth on the all-time WOU list. TeammateÂ
Maliyah Thompson won the event at George Fox with a season-best 7.70 (her all-time best is 7.61, second in WOU history). Thompson also hit a season best in the 60 hurdles at 8.90 seconds.

Mark Warren was named GNAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week when the conference announced the awards Feb 5.

WOLVES' CONKLIN NAMED GNAC FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (Dec. 11) | RELEASE
Western Oregon'sÂ
Justin Conklin was named the GNAC Field Athlete of the Week on Dec. 11 after winning the high jump at the Spokane Invitational with the best indoor mark for the Wolves since 2013. Conklin's height of 6 feet, 6.75 inches that won Saturday's event is tied for eighth-best in WOU history and the best mark since Matson Hardie's height of 6-7 set in 2013. The WOU high jump record is 7-0.5 set in 1998 by A.J. Acker.
