PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon's
Justin Conklin was named the GNAC Field Athlete of the Week on Monday after winning the high jump at the Spokane Invitational with the best indoor mark for the Wolves since 2013.
Conklin's height of 6 feet, 6.75 inches that won Saturday's event is tied for eighth-best in WOU history and the best mark since Matson Hardie's height of 6-7 set in 2013. The WOU high jump record is 7-0.5 set in 1998 by A.J. Acker.
Conklin and the rest of the Wolves compete again Jan. 13 back in Spokane for the Spokane Indoor Open.
