FOREST GROVE, Ore.—Looking to punch her ticket to nationals after collecting All-American honors in the javelin last season, Western Oregon sophomore
Darian Wilson opened up her outdoor season with an NCAA DII national qualifying mark at the Pacific Preview on Saturday.
Wilson unleashed a meet-winning distance of 139-0 (42.36m) to top the provisional barrier of 136-5 (41.59m). The mark instantly moved Wilson into the NCAA DII's top-10 with the No. 4 mark in the country so far in the young season.
Teammate
Halie Korff made it a 1-2 Western Oregon finish with a season-best 128-0 (39.02m). Korff also set a season-best in the discus with a 119-6 (36.42m) toss.
The Wolves will continue its outdoor season at the Lewis & Clark Spring Break Open on March 16.
