While the 2020 season ended early, below is a recap of the senior careers while at Western Oregon University for the softball seniors. This weekend would've been senior weekend and although there are no games, it is time to honor and recognize our seniors. Some will return for the 2021 season, but this gives all four student-athletes a chance to be honored so far for their accomplishments at WOU.

Kennedy Coy

Coy has played her entire career at WOU arriving in 2017 and playing as a true freshman. Each of the past two seasons she earned GNAC Academic honors and was named All-GNAC honorable mention on the field in 2019. Coy saw action in 22 games during the 2020 season posting a .307 average, 23 hits, a double, two triples, five RBI, 22 runs scored and 12 walks. She posted multi-hit games seven times reaching three hits in a game against both Saint Martin's and Eastern Oregon. Drove in a pair of runs against Saint Rose. Following a freshman year in which she played in 15 games and scored five runs, Coy played in 26 games that included 15 starts as a sophomore in 2018. During that season she tallied nine hits, a double, a triple, two RBI and seven runs scored. As a junior in 2019, Coy nearly hit .400 finishing with a .388 average with 50 hits, eight doubles, four triples, 23 RBI, 34 RBI and nine walks while playing in 46 games that included 45 starts. Coy is from Gladstone, Ore., and played at Gladstone High School. Coy will be back for the 2021 season.

Chandler Bishop

Bishop also has spent her entire collegiate career at WOU after arriving in 2017. This past season Bishop appeared in 10 games that included six starts in the circle. She led the team with a 3.80 ERA after logging 42.1 innings that included a 4-2 record, a save, a shutout and three complete games. Bishop walked just nine batters and had 13 strikeouts. She went at least five innings in five games, as all three of her complete games she went seven innings. Her shutout fittingly came during the final games of the 2020 season when she picked up the win over MSU Billings. Bishop twice was named to the GNAC Academic Team including this year. At the plate in 2020 she collected eight hits, two doubles, a home run, 10 RBI, five runs scored and four walks. She hit the walk-off grand slam to defeat then No. 2 Texas A&M-Kingsville in which she had five RBI in the contest. As a freshman, she hit .315 with 28 hits, three home runs, five doubles, 19 RBI and nine runs scored. In the circle, she tossed 49.1 innings picking up three wins, a save in 13 appearances with three complete games. Overall as a freshman she played in 39 games that included 31 starts. During her sophomore year in 2018, Bishop tallied 16 hits, two doubles, three home runs 10 RBI and 10 runs scored. In the circle, she appeared in 15 games recording two wins, a save in 54 innings pitched which included a complete game. Overall, she played in 39 games that included 33 starts. As a junior in 2019 Bishop logged 56.1 innings in the circle with four wins in 12 appearances and seven complete game efforts. At the plate, she tallied 13 hits, a double, three home runs, 12 RBI and eight runs scored while playing in 32 games that included 27 starts. Bishop is from Arlington, Wash., where she played at Arlington High School. Bishop will be back for the 2021 season.

Ayanna Arceneaux

Arceneaux has been at WOU for her entire athletic career as she began the 2020 season being named to the NFCA Top-25 Players to Watch List after she was named an NFCA All-American in 2019. That was on top of D2CCA All-American and First Team All-GNAC honors. If that wasn't enough she was also named to the Academic GNAC Team. Arceneaux was already putting together a strong 2020 season hitting .402 with 33 hits, five doubles, three triples, a home run, 10 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases in starting all 23 games. She recorded a hit in 20 games, posting 11 multi-hit games reaching three in a game against Saint Martin's and Southern Nazarene. Drove in a run in seven games, including two in a game in three different occasions. After arriving at WOU in 2017 and a redshirt season, she began her career in 2018 hitting .347 playing in 41 games that included 40 starts as she had 41 hits, six doubles, two home runs, 18 RBI, 21 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Arceneaux had a season to remember as in 2019 tallying a .460 batting average with 64 hits, seven doubles, four triples, four home runs, 31 RBI, 35 runs scored, 15 walks, four stolen bases while playing in 51 games that were all starts. Arceneaux is from Puyallup, Wash., where she played at Emerald Ridge High School.

Nicole Miller

Miller arrived at WOU during the 2018 season after playing her first two seasons at Northern Idaho CC where she helped drive in 73 runs over her two seasons and hit over .300 each year. She ended up spending three years at WOU as after seeing action in the 2018 year, she missed the 2019 season due to a medical redshirt before playing the 2020 year. This past season Miller played in 14 games that included 13 starts where she hit .333 with 12 hits, a double, a home run, nine RBI, five runs scored and four walks. She tallied three multi-hit games reaching a season-high three against Saint Martin's. Miller added a pair of multi-RBI games driving in three against then-No. 2 Texas A&M-Kingsville and two against Oklahoma Christian. In Miller's first season with WOU in 2018, she tallied 32 hits, seven doubles, four home runs, 23 RBI, nine runs scored and six walks while playing in 43 games that included 35 starts. She also tallied 112 putouts and 15 assists behind the plate at catcher. Miller was named to the GNAC Academic Team this year and is originally from Tualatin, Ore., where she played at Tualatin High School. Her sister, Jasmine, played at WOU on the women's basketball team and has remained on the athletics administration staff.
