ANCHORAGE/FAIRBANKS, Alaska – Following another home week in which the Western Oregon University volleyball team was able to pick up a victory, the Wolves will travel to Alaska this week to close the regular season against Alaska Anchorage on Thursday starting at 8 p.m. (Pacific) and then on Saturday against Alaska Fairbanks starting at 3 p.m. (Pacific).

WOU (4-19, 2-14 GNAC) claimed the 3-1 win at home over Northwest Nazarene and then came close in a five-set battle with Central Washington on Saturday for Senior Night.

It was a big week for Bella MacLellan who was named GNAC Defensive Player of the Week following her 18-block effort in the two matches.

It's been awhile since WOU saw both of the Alaska schools with the team last playing in the conference openers back on Sep. 16 and Sep. 18 in Monmouth. The Wolves played Alaska Fairbanks first that week, falling 3-0 and then closed against Alaska Anchorage with the Seawolves also taking a 3-0 victory. Following her big week, MacLellan leads the team in blocks with 68.

Individually, WOU has several players ranked in the top-10 in the GNAC including: Stanton is ninth in service aces per set (0.34), ninth in assists per set (5.57) and ninth in total assists (440).
