Hutton Nearly Posts an NCAA Division II Provisional Mark in the 1,500 to lead the Wolves at NW Distance Jamboree

EUGENE, Ore. – Having not raced in an event since the distance medley relay during the 2020 indoor season, Hunter Hutton made a strong statement in his return to the outdoor track on Saturday at the NW Distance Jamboree.

Hutton, racing in the men's 1,500, crossed with a time of 3:51.06 to come in fourth overall. Hutton was the top finisher from a non-pro entry or Division I entry. His time is currently the 18th-best in NCAA Division II and is just off the NCAA Division II Provisional Mark in the event of 3:50.68.

Justin Crosswhite also competed in the men's 1,500 and continued to improve his season-best time in the event coming in at 3:53.14 to place sixth. His new time moves him to the 35th-best time in NCAA Division II in the 1,500.

Trey Reed and Tim Rambo entered in the men's 800 with Reed crossing in fifth with a time of 1:58.23, just off his season-best time in the event. Rambo came in eighth with a time of 2:00.46, racing the 800 for the second meet this season.

Caitlin Heldt was close to her season-best time in the women's 1,500 when she posted a time of 4:52.75 to come in 18th.

WOU will have a full squad when they will host the John Knight Twilight this coming Friday and Saturday.
