MONMOUTH, Ore. ---Â The Western Oregon women's soccer team is in a battle with four other teams with four games left for the fourth and final spot in the GNAC Tournament as the Wolves host Montana State Billings 1:30 p.m. Thursday and Seattle Pacific 11 a.m. Saturday.
The Wolves sit tied with Simon Fraser with nine points and in the fourth-and-final spot into the postseason tournament - though Central Washington, Saint Martin's and MSUBÂ are all within striking distance.

WOLVES HEADING INTO THE WEEKÂ | 2022 STATISTICS
WOU picked up its first win in eight games Saturday (0-5-3), jumping out to a 4-0 lead on Central Washington and coming away with the 4-3 win.
Chloe Smith leads the team in scoring with eight points with her three goals and two assists while
Briana Kubli and
Savannah Taylor have three goals and an assist each.
Darien Walton has played keeper for the Wolves the last three halves - allowing five goals (3.33 GAA).
Olivia Holdenried leads the team in minutes at keeper (841) and GAA (1.07) with a 0.811 save percentage while
Isabella Lopez has also played 283 minutes with a 1.59 GAA and a 0.688 save percentage.
MONTANA STATE BILLINGS HEADING INTO THE WEEKÂ | 2022 STATISTICS
The Yellowjackets are coming off a week where they tied with Simon Fraser 1-1 on Thursday and lost to No. 7 Western Washington 3-0 - both contests at home.
MSUB has scored just seven goals this season with Jackie Sharpe and Jillian Hust scoring two apiece. Hust leads the team in shots (20) followed by Taylor Gertsch (19) and Sharpe (18). Clare Keenan has seen most of the time at keeper, playing 1,125 of the team's 1,350 minutes and owns a 2.24 GAA and 0.759 save percentage with 88 saves.
SEATTLE PACIFIC HEADING INTO THE WEEKÂ | 2022 STATISTICS
The Falcons sit in third place in the conference and are looking to clinch a spot in the GNAC Tournament this weekend after splitting games this weekend - losing to Western Washington 3-0 on Thursday and beating Simon Fraser 6-2 on Saturday at home.
SPU has had a balance attack with seven players having scored multiple goals (led by Sophie Beadle and Jacqueline Blakeley with four apiece) and seven with multiple assists (Beadle and Kathryn Nyone lead the way with four apiece). At keeper, Mercedes Cullen has played the majority of the minutes and owns a 1.11 GAA and a 0.788 save percentage with 52 saves and four shutouts.

The Wolves tied with Montana State Billings 1-1 on Sept. 24 on the road, getting a second-half goal from
Chloe Smith to pick up the draw. WOU lost to Seattle Pacific 2-1 on Sept. 22 in Seattle with all three goals scored in the first 21 minutes of the match.

WESTERN OREGON WOMEN'S SOCCER NOTES
BEST START IN PROGRAM HISTORY ...
The Western Oregon women's soccer team got off to its best start in program history at 3-0-1 - eclipsing the 2-0-2 start from 2013. With its win Sept. 15 against Saint Martin's to go 4-0-1, its the first time a Wolves team has ever started a season without a loss through five games.
WOU RECEIVESÂ FIRST NATIONAL TOP 10 RANKING ...
The Western Oregon women's soccer team's historic start to the 2022 season didn't unnoticed as the previously unranked Wolves shot up to No. 8 in the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Rankings released Sept. 6. The Wolves moved to No. 19 the following week and currently sit unranked in the national top 25.
WOLVES PICK UP ROAD WIN OVER RANKED FOE ...
The Western Oregon women's soccer team had a tough challenge to start the season as it hit the road to take on No. 20 Sonomoa State - but came away with a 1-0 win August 25.
Jenna Efraimson scored in the 10th minute and the defense - led by a stellar effort by
Olivia Holdenried - did the rest. Holdenried had 14 saves and faced 34 shots to pick up the shutout.
HOLDENRIED NAMED GNAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR THE SECOND TIME
For the second time this season, Western Oregon goalkeeperÂ
Olivia Holdenried has been selected the GNAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 3. Holdenried, who won the honor on Aug. 29 as well, was the last line of defense for a pair of shutouts for the Wolves - a pair of 0-0 draws against Central Washington and Northwest Nazarene. The sophomore had two saves and faced three shots in the tie against Central Washington on Thursday and then had three saves while facing 10 shots against Northwest Nazarene on Saturday.
