MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon men's soccer team looks to build off its first GNAC win in program history as it hosts Simon Fraser on Thursday and then travels to take on Montana State Billings on Saturday.

Earlier this season, the Wolves tied MSUB, 2-2, on Oct. 8 while they lost at Simon Fraser, 1-0 on Oct. 15.

WOLVES HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2022 STATS
Western Oregon picked up its first GNAC win on the season and in program history as the first-year program defeated Saint Martin's 2-0 Sunday at WOU Turf Field. The Wolves got a goal and an assist from freshman Abraham Villalobos, a goal from freshman Alex Grignon and an assist from freshman Jesua Pena-Herrera. WOU also lost last week at No. 22 Northwest Nazarene 3-1, getting a goal from Dauda Woodruff.

Grignon leads the team in scoring with four goals and one assists while Villalobos is second on the team in scoring with three goals and an assist. Juan Suarez at keeper has played all but 69 minutes this season and has a 1.96 GAA with a 0.759 save percentage with 82 saves and three shutouts. He also leads the team in minutes (1,191) followed by Enrique Gomez (1,146), Chester March (1,115), Villalobos (1,105) and Jimmy Perkins (1,006).

SIMON FRASER HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2022 STATISTICS
The Red Leafs split a pair of matches last week, losing at Western Washington 2-0 on Thursday and defeating Seattle Pacific 2-1 on Saturday.

Devin O'Hea leads the team in goals with five to go along with an assist while Niko Papakyriakopoulos and Ali Zohar are tied for the team lead with three assists apiece. At keeper, Justyn Sandhu has played all 1,170 minutes with a 1.00 GAA, 0.806 save percentage, 54 saves and four shutouts. Papakyriakopoulos has also played all 1,170 minutes While Mark Talisuna and Nicolai Placzek have played 1,169 minutes each this season.

MONTANA STATE BILLINGS HEADING INTO THE WEEK | 2022 STATISTICS
The Yellowjackets last week had an impressive win in their only game, defeated No. 22 Northwest Nazarene convincingly 4-1 - getting a pair of goals and an assist from Jeremie Briquet.

Briquet now leads the team in points with three goals and five assists while Ryan Hanley has four goals and an assist, Callum Bryan has three goals and an assist and Bjarne Fedkenhauer has four assists. Jeremi Campagnolo has played all but 32 minutes this season at keeper for MSUB and has a 1.90 GAA, 0.657 save percentage, 46 saves and two shutouts. Bryan Maxwell leads the team in minutes with 1,170
 
WESTERN OREGON MEN'S SOCCER NOTES
FIRST GNAC VICTORY ...
The Wolves picked up their first GNAC victory in program history on Oct. 23, defeating Saint Martin's 2-0 at the WOU Turf Field. All the point getters were freshmen with Abraham Villalobos picking up a goal and an assist, Alex Grignon with a goal and Jesua Pena-Herrera with an assist. Juan Suarez picked up the shutout at keeper.

GAME 1, WIN 1 ...

The Wolves opened their program history in impressive fashion - defeating a solid Hawaii Pacific team 1-0 on Aug. 26. The first goal in program history came from freshman Alex Grignon in the 74th minute to give WOU the lead for good.

GNAC TEAM OF THE WEEK - RELEASE
The Western Oregon men's soccer team was named the GNAC Team of the Week on Aug. 29 after the Wolves won their first match in program history. The Wolves defeated Hawaii Pacific, 1-0, at WOU Soccer Field on Friday - a Sharks squad that had eight wins under its belt a season ago and return much of its starting lineup.
