PROVO, Utah --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team dropped an exhibition contest at Division-I BYU 97-64 on Thursday night at the Marriott Center.
The Wolves trailed by six at 34-28 with five minutes left in the contest before BYU ended the half on a 10-4 run to take a 12-point lead into the break.
But the Cougars extended the lead in the second half by holding WOU to 35.7 shooting from the field (10-for-28) in the final 20 minutes - though the Wolves did still go 6-for-11 from 3-point range in the second half and finished the contest 10-for-23. However, BYU went 15-for-33 from 3-point range in the contest.
Jahville Collins had a season-high 14 points for the Wolves, going 4-for-6 from 3-point range.
Cameron Cranston also had 14 points while
John Morrill-Keeler had 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a block.
Qiant Myers, two days after having a career-high 13 assists (the most by a WOU player since 2015), had a team-high nine assists to go along with six points, four rebounds and three steals.
The Wolves are off until returning to GNAC play 7 p.m. Dec. 29 at home against Western Washington.
