Track And Field Closes Busy Week Competing At Lewis & Clark On Saturday

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Western Oregon University men's and women's track and field teams had multiple student-athletes competing at Lewis & Clark both Friday and Saturday in Portland. This meet closes a busy week for the Wolves after competing in several meets in California and then traveling down the road to Portland.

Amari Hendrix posted a time of 11.40 in the 100 to place eighth, with James Mazzeo coming in 15th with a time of 11.54.

Josie Lavato and Taryn Wilson led the Wolves in the 100 with Lavato coming in fourth with a time of 12.89 and Wilson following in sixth with a time of 13.03.

Macy Clemens and Hailey Blue paced the Wolves in the 100 hurdles with Clemens coming in fourth with a time of 16.17 and Blue crossing at 16.63 to place sixth.

Brennen Sorah entered the 110 hurdles for WOU posting a top-three time coming in third at 15.67.

Carson Austin posted a time of 53.43 in the 400 to come in ninth.

Aaron Hanible collected a top-three finish in the 400 hurdles when he came in third with a time of 58.14.

Madeline Lambing and Rilee Carstensen went 1-2 in the 400 hurdles with Lambing winning the event with a time of 1:06.35 and Carstensen coming in runner-up with a time of 1:10.82.

Matthew Schenk came in sixth in the 800 with a time of 1:58.48.

Peyton Green came in 13th in the 800 with a time of 2:27.12.

Bryce Mefford entered the 1,500 coming in 31st.

Katie Chapman put together a strong result in the 3,000 steeple coming in fourth with a time of 11:54.43.

Cedar Davis-Frankfort came in 12th in the 5,000.

Emily Johnson competed in the 5,000 coming in fifth.

Halle Hargett was near her season-best in the discus reaching a mark of 121-07 to come in fifth. Krystal Andres also competed for the Wolves coming in 16th.

Mark Warren won the hammer with a distance of 150-01.

Abigail Sanders came in 11th in the hammer.

Kalulusno Ngaida and Clemens each cleared a height of 5-1.25 in the high jump with Ngaida coming in third and Clemens in fourth.

Devin Hasher cleared a new season-best in the high jump reaching a height of 6-3.50 to come in fourth.

Lyndee McLauchlin won the javelin with a distance of 125-03.

Clemens reached a distance of 16-4.25 to come in third in the long jump.

Sorah and Gabriel Burchfield competed in the shot put with Sorah coming in 11th and Burchfield coming in 17th.

Halle Hargett came in fourth in the shot put with a distance of 38-8.75. Andres placed seventh with a distance of 35-10.75.

WOU will return to action this coming week when they will travel to Eugene to compete in the Oregon Relays Thursday through Saturday.
