MONMOUTH, Ore. – Justin Crosswhite has closed his Western Oregon University career in style with another accolade. For the second straight year, Crosswhite was named a College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-American as he was selected to the First Team this year.
Crosswhite, a five-time GNAC Academic recipient, posted another perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in organizational leadership. The senior from Hood River, Ore., recently placed seventh at the GNAC Outdoor Championships in the 1,500 and also competed in the 800. Earlier this outdoor season he set a new PR time of 3:48.93 in the 1,500 at Bryan Clay. Crosswhite was close to his PR time in the 800 when he posted a time of 1:52.09 during the Oregon Relays. Crosswhite only competed in the outdoor season this year, having already used his final indoor and cross country years of eligibility. During last year's GNAC Outdoor Championships, he placed second in the 1,500 and fourth in the 800. During the 2020-21 academic year, Crosswhite was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Second Team. Crosswhite ranks in the top 10 all-time in the WOU record books in several categories including seventh in the 1,500 and 10th in the 800 on the outdoor lists. On the indoor lists, he ranks second in the mile and placed second in the GNAC Cross Country Championships in 2019.
