BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell 3-1 (25-22, 12-25, 25-17, 25-20) to Western Washington on Saturday night at WECU Court at Carver Gym.
The Wolves (8-9 overall, 2-7 GNAC) jumped out to an 18-14 lead on the Vikings (6-11, 6-3) before WWU went on a 4-0 run to tie it and eventually took the set 25-22. WOU dominated the second game, starting the set up 8-1 after a
Chloe Asciutto ace and a
Bailee Hartsook kill and cruised fromt here for the 25-12 victory to knot the match at 1-1.
But WOU wouldn't snag another game and fell in four.
Madison Hornback led three Wolves with double-figure kills with 13 while Hartsook had 12 and
Sarah Strus finished with 10.
Laney O'Neil had a team-high 22 assists with
Kealani Rosa adding 16 and
Sophie Matlock had a team-beat 17 digs.
The Wolves are on the road again next week with a single match at Saint Martin's 5 p.m. Saturday.
