PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon's Madison Hornback put up eye-popping kill numbers this week - setting two 2023 conference-best marks and two NCAA Division-II marks - and was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

The junior from Oregon City racked up 27 kills in a five-set loss to Northwest Nazarene on Thursday - the most kills by a GNAC player this season and a career high for Hornback. Two days later, Hornback had 23 kills in a three-set loss to No. 20 Central Washington - the most kills by a GNAC player in three sets this season (by five kills) and tied for the fifth-most kills in a three-set match in Division II this season.

Hornback averaged 6.25 kills per set while racking up 50 kills in eight sets. She also set NCAA D-II and GNAC highs this season in attacks in a five-set match (86) and three-set match (58).

Hornback now leads the conference in kills per set at 3.5 and is second in points per set at 4.01.

WOU hits the road this week as it takes on Alaska Anchorage on Thursday and Alaska on Saturday.
