MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team celebrated its five seniors following a 3-1 loss (25-19, 25-23, 25-27, 25-15) to Simon Fraser on Saturday night at New PE Building.
Seniors
Bella MacLellan,
Sophie Matlock,
Emily Olson,
Laney O'Neil and
Kiana Pel played their final home match in front of friends and family before being honored after the game.
As for the match, the Wolves dropped the first two sets before fighting off a match point thanks to a kill from MacLellan to make it 25-25. MacLellan than teamed with
Bailee Hartsook for a block before MacLellan put the game away with a kill. Unfortunately for WOU, it would drop the fourth set 25-15 and fall in the match.
Chloe Asciutto had a career-high 16 kills to lead the Wolves to go along with four blocks while
Madison Hornback added 13. O'Neil led the team with 23 assists while Matlock had a team-high 14 digs. MacLellan finished with eight kills and four blocks.
WOU closes out its season on the road at Montana State Billings on Thursday followed by a season finale at Seattle Pacific on Saturday.
