MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team moved to 2-0 on the season by defeating Westmont College 86-76 at New PE Building on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the GNAC/PacWest Conference Challenge.
After trailing Westmont (1-1) 35-29 at halftime, the Wolves (2-0) outscored the Warriors 47-33 in the second half, including a 20-13 advantage in the third quarter. The Wolves concluded the third quarter with a 15-6 run with Cali McClave capping the run with a 3-pointer, extending the lead to 55-48.
Bella Pedrojetti led WOU with 19 points, shooting 8-for-17 from the field and 2-for-5 from behind the arc. Triniti Youngblood logged her first double-double of the year, scoring 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Jodi Noyes scored 10 points (shooting 4-for-5 from the free-throw line) and grabbed seven rebounds. Ana McClave filled up the stat sheet with five points, a team-high 11 rebounds, tied a team-high with six assists (with Ally Harman) and added a WOU-high three steals.
The Wolves play again 5 p.m. Tuesday at home against George Fox.
