MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team secured a 50-33 win against George Fox at the NPE Building on Tuesday night to move to 3-0 on the season.
From the jump, the Wolves controlled the tempo of the game, jumping out to a 13-2 lead to start the first quarter and maintained the lead for the remainder of the game. The Wolves' defense gave the Bruins trouble, coming up with 10 steals, with a team-high five from Cali McClave. WOU held the Bruins to single digits in scoring in all quarters but the second.
McClave had a team-high of 11 points, eight rebounds, and added three assists to go along with her five steals. Ana McClave had a team-high nine rebounds while also adding eight points (shooting 3-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range). Gretta Baker and Triniti Youngblood both scored six points, with Youngblood grabbing eight rebounds.
The Wolves will travel to Lacey, Washington, to play in the Saint Martin's Tournament - facing Chico State 5 p.m. Friday and Sonoma State 1 p.m. Saturday.
