LACEY, Wash. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team fell to Sonoma State 79-57 on Saturday afternoon at Marcus Pavilion at the SMU Tournament.
WOU (3-2) played the SSU (3-1) close in the first three minutes of the first quarter before the Seawolves went on a 15-3 run to end the first quarter. The Wolves struggled to limit the Seawolves hot shooting - SSU made 11 3-pointers on 45.8 percent shooting.
Cali McClave led the Wolves with 14 points to go along with two rebounds and two assists. Ana McClave finished with 13 points, a team high of five assists and three steals. Jodi Noyes had 10 rebounds and four points, Gretta Baker, had 10 points and a rebound while Bella Pedrojetti added seven points.
WOU returns to play as it travels to Azusa, California, to play Biola University 2 p.m. Friday in the Azusa Pacific Thanksgiving Classic.
