PORTLAND, Ore. --- A week that saw Western Oregon's
Qiant Myers go for the first triple-double in the GNAC since 2019 on Tuesday and score a career-high 30 points on Saturday led the junior to being named the GNAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Myers had a career week highlighted by the GNAC's seventh triple-double in conference history (the first since 2019) and setting a career high in points, rebounds and assists while helping the Wolves go 2-1. He averaged 19.7 points, 8.7 assists and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 52.4 percent from the field (22-for-42), including 46.2 percent from 3-point range (6-for-13).
On Tuesday against Multnomah, Myers had a triple double (the first in the NCAA this season) with 14 points, 13 assists (career high) and 11 rebounds (a career high). After going for 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds against Stanislaus State in a loss Friday, Myers scored a career-high 30 points while adding five assists and four rebounds - going 10-for-15 from the field (3-for-6 from 3-point range).
Myers leads the GNAC and is second in the nation early in the season at 8.4 assists per game to go along with 17 points, 5.8 rebounds and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range.
The Wolves play again 7 p.m. Tuesday at home against Linfield.
