AZUSA, Calif. --- The Western Oregon women's basketball team lost 77-68 against Azusa Pacific Saturday night at the Azusa Pacific Thanksgiving Classic at Felix Event Center.
The first half was played closely as the Wolves (3-4) were down 33-29 after two quarters, but the Cougars (6-3) went on a 13-2 run to start the second half. The Wolves started the fourth quarter down 59-40, but managed to cut the lead down to nine, outscoring APU 28-19 in the period.
Cali McClave led the Wolves with 16 points (5-for-6 from the free-throw line), five steals and fiive rebounds. Kiylynn Dawkins earned her first double-double of the season scoring 12 points and grabbing a team-high 13 rebounds. Triniti Youngblood had 12 points, five rebounds and four assists.
The Wolves return to play 7:30 p.m. Thursday as they host Central Washington University to start GNAC play.
