MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team had four student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Volleyball Team on Tuesday.
WOU's
Emily Olson (4.0 GPA),
Bella MacLellan (4.0),
Madison Hornback (3.62) and
Bailee Hartsook (3.58) were named to the team as a combination of statistics and GPA are considered. Hornback, who led the GNAC in kills per set this season, has advanced to be considered for Academic All-America honors - one of nine players from the GNAC to move on.
The 2023 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced Jan. 9, 2024.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
