VIRGINIA BEACH, Virginia --- Western Oregon's
Hunter Hutton took ninth place in the mile at the NCAA Track & Field Indoor Championships on Saturday.
Hutton finished with a time of 4 minutes, 10.20 seconds in a group of nine that from 1-9 was separated by 3.03 seconds (including from fifth to ninth being separated by less than a second).
Hutton qualified for the finals Friday after taking seventh in the prelims with a time of 4:08.29.
It capped a successful season for the junior as he finished with the No. 2 time in the indoor mile in WOU history and fifth on the GNAC all-time list of 4:03.26.
