PORTLAND, Ore. --- Western Oregon track and field's
Dayne Gordien and
Kaylee Wright each were selected GNAC Field Athlete of the Week honors Monday for their performance at the Oregon Preview at Hayward Field in Eugene on Saturday.
Gordien won the shot put at the Oregon Preview with a mark of 16.70 meters (54 feet, 9.5 inches) - an NCAA provisional mark and the fourth-best mark in WOU history.
Wright took fourth in the javelin at the Oregon Preview with a toss of 44.54 meters (146 feet, 1 inch) - good for an NCAA provisional mark.
The Wolves return to action next weekend with athletes in Southern California (San Marcos and San Diego) as well as at the Willamette Invitational in Salem.
