TURLOCK, Calif. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team started 2023 on the right foot with a 3-0 sweep (25-16, 25-22, 25-20) of Stanislaus State at the Stan State Tournament on Thursday at Fitzpatrick Arena.

The Wolves were led by Madison Hornback who finished with 14 kills and just two errors to go along with a team-high 10 digs. Freshman Kilinoelehua Helm in her first game as a Wolf racked up 10 kills while Bailee Hartsook added seven.

Laney O'Neil had a team-high 14 assists and three aces while Kealani Rosa had 13 assists.

WOU returns to action 4:30 p.m. Friday with a match against Chico State in Turlock.
