PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Western Oregon women's soccer team swept this week's GNAC weekly awards as goalkeeper Sophia Pierce was named the GNAC Defensive Player of the Week while for the second week in a row, Chloe Smith was named the GNAC Offensive Player of the Week when the conference announced the awards Monday.

Pierce picked up a shutout with a pair of saves Saturday in a 0-0 draw against Cal Poly Humboldt and helped secure a win for the Wolves on Thursday at UC Colorado Springs with a trio of saves - including a clutch save on a PK. 

As for Smith, she scored both goals against UCCS in the 2-1 victory Thursday, including a goal in the 90th minute to give the Wolves the win. It was the second game in a row the senior had scored two goals. Her four goals ranks tied ninth in NCAA Division II and her two game-winning goals is tied for second.

The undefeated Wolves (3-0-1) are off until beginning GNAC play Sept. 21 at Saint Martin's.
