Cali McClave went off for 20 points and didn't miss a field goal in the second quarter to get the Wolves within four points, but the Western Oregon women's basketball team fell at home to No. 21 Western Washington Saturday afternoon at New PE Building.

The Wolves (9-9 overall, 2-5 GNAC) trailed the Vikings (14-3, 6-1) 16-5 after the first quarter and were down 20-5 before McClave got hot and had a personal 18-7 run on WWU capped by a 3-pointer with 3:33 left in the first half to cut the deficit to 27-23. However, the Vikings answered by outscoring WOU 11-2 the rest of the period as WOU trailed 38-25 at the half. In the quarter, McClave went 9-for-9 from the field, including hitting a pair of 3-pointers, to keep WOU in the game.
But WWU outscored WOU 28-20 in the third to pull away in the contest.
McClave finished with 26 points, going 11-for-21 from the field and 2-for-3 from 3-point range.
Jodi Noyes added 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field.
