The Wolves will be playing for the first time since falling at home to Cal Poly Humoldt 79-78 on Dec. 16. The Lumberjacks scored in the final seconds to upend the Wolves. Cameron Benzel led the Wolves with 25 points (going 11-for-16 from the field). Caron Frincke added 22 points - going 6-for-12 from 3-point range - while adding four assists and three steals. 

SCOUTING WESTERN WASHINGTON, SIMON FRASER ...
Western Washington enters this week on a five-game winning streak - last playing Dec. 17 when the Vikings defeated George Fox 119-105 on Dec. 17 at home. Aiden Price came off the bench to lead WWU with 27 points and eight rebounds while Momo Stokes added 25 points. The Vikings rank in the top 10 in Division II and lead the GNAC in scoring (96 points per game - fourth in the nation), fastbreak points (19.3 per game - sixth in D-II), three-point percentage (40.7 percent - eighth in D-II) and field goal percentage (51.8 - ninth in D-II). Kai Johnson leads the GNAC and is 16th in D-II in scoring at 21.8 points per game.

Simon Fraser enters the week on a five-game losing streak, last playing Dec. 9 and falling to No. 8 Colorado Mesa 92-78 at the High Desert Classic in Las Vegas. Elliot Dimaculangan led the Red Leafs with 28 points while adding six rebounds, two assists and two steals. The Red Leafs rank last in the GNAC in scoring margin at minus-11.2 (WOU is eigth in the GNAC at minus-5.1). 

SERIES HISTORY ...
WOU is 25-49 against Western Washington all-time, however the Wolves are 5-1 against the Vikings in their last six games - including defeating WWU in Bellingham 72-70 in the teams' last meeting Jan. 28, 2023.

The Wolves are 22-2 all-time against Simon Fraser, including winning the last three meetings. Last season the Wolves won at home 79-67 on Dec. 31, 2022, and defeated the Red Leafs on the road 75-73 on Jan. 26.
