THE WOLVES HEADING INTO THE WEEK
The Wolves went 1-0-1 last week with a 1-0 win over MSU Billings on Thursday thanks to a diving header for a goal from
Olivia Fothergill and a scoreless tie against Seattle Pacific on Saturday - both games in Monmouth.
WOU sits in fourth place in the GNAC with 11 points as the top four spots are separated by a point each (Western Washington has 14 points, Simon Fraser 13 and Seattle Pacific 12). That group of four has created separation from the rest of the conference with MSU Billings in fifth with five points. The top four teams make the GNAC Championships.
Ciara Garcia continues to lead the Wolves in scoring with four goals (tied for third in the GNAC)Â to go along with an assist. Fother Gill has three goals as teh two have combined for seven of WOU's 10 goals this season. Freshman
Kameron Wimsatt leads the team with two assists.
With the two shutouts last week, keeper
Sophia Pierce lowered her goals against average to 0.952 - fourth in the GNAC. Her four shutouts this season are tied for third in the GNAC.
THE OPPONENTS HEADING INTO THE WEEK
Central Washington had pair of polar opposite results as it was thumped at home by Western Washington 7-1 on Thursday before two days later picking up a scoreless draw against then conference leader Simon Fraser. Scoring has been the issue for the Wildcats as they haven't scored more than one goal in a game this season and have been shutout five times.
Saint Martin's had a pair of scoreless draws last week against Seattle Pacific on Thursday and MSU Billings on Saturday - both at home. Like CWU, scoring has been a problem for Saint Martin's as they haven't scored a goal in its previous four games and have just one goal in its last eight contests.

First 2-0 start to GNAC play in school history

The last time the Wolves started conference play undefeated was in 2014 when they won, then tied.
