MONMOUTH, Ore. --- The Western Oregon volleyball team fell to Alaska 3-2 (21-25, 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-9) on Saturday night at New PE Building.

The Wolves (13-7 overall, 5-6 GNAC) were rolling in the first two sets, capping the first set win with kills from Madison Hornback and Bailee Hartsook and the second on a Chloe Asciutto kill.

WOU was in position for the sweep, leading the third set 19-14 after a Hornback ace and still up 22-20 following a Maela Honma kill. But the Nanooks (15-7, 7-4) went on a 4-1 run to end the set to force a fourth game.

The Wolves again led late in game four, 21-18 before a 7-1 run by Alaska to end the set forced a fifth-and-deciding set that the Nanooks took.

Hornback had her second 20-kill performance against Alaska this season - finishing with 20 kills to go along with 15 digs and two aces. Hartsook finished with 10 kills. Kealani Rosa led the team with 26 assists and 18 digs.

The Wolves hit the road next week and play at Western Washington on Thursday and at Simon Fraser on Saturday.
