ARCATA, Calif. --- The Western Oregon men's basketball team lost to Cal Poly Humboldt 87-70 on Tuesday night at Lumberjack Arena.
The Wolves (1-7) fell behind early, but did make a run at the Lumberjacks (3-1) as an
Anjay Cortez dunk with 3:10 left cut what was a 17-point lead down to six at 75-69. However, CPH scored the next six points and pulled away for the win.
Cortez led WOU with 23 points to go along with six rebounds and three steals.
Jason Gallant had 19 points and a team-high four assists.
After playing their first eight games away from Monmouth, the Wolves play their home opener 2 p.m. Saturday against Academy of Art.
