SPOKANE, Wash. --- The Western Oregon track and field teams saw four program top-10 performances Saturday at the Spokane Invitational at The Podium.
Keeton Sanchez blazed his way to No. 10 on the WOU all-time 800 list by winning the event with a time of 1 minute, 52.17 seconds. It's also an NCAA D-II qualifying mark.
Mark Warren won the weight throw with a distance of 59 feet, 7 inches - a personal record that moves him to third on the WOU all-time list and to eighth on the GNAC all-time list.
On the women's side, a pair of sprinters made the 60-meter all-time WOU top 10 in Nerissa Thompson (7.82 - tied for fourth on the WOU all-time list) and Annika Morrow (7.87 - tied for sixth on the school's all-time list).Â
In a non-NCAA championship event,
Grant Bohannon won the 600 meters with a time of 1;20.40 - less than half a second off the Wolves' all-time mark of 1:19.95 set by Badane Sultessa in 2016.
WOU doesn't compete again until Jan. 17 at the UW Indoor Preview in Seattle.
